Privacy notice
Version d001-privacy-v2 · Effective 24 October 2026
Hompt is in an invited, pre-launch test.
This notice covers that test, for people taking part in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, India and Nigeria. Offers and bookings in the test are test transactions and no real payments are taken. This notice has not yet had a country-specific legal review and will be replaced or confirmed before public launch.
Who we are
Hompt is operated by Plaiss Ltd (company number 17109369, registered office 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom), which is responsible for your information (“we”). Privacy contact: info@plaiss.com.
What Hompt does
Hompt helps a customer describe a service they need, at their own location, at a business’s premises or at another agreed place. It shares only what approved businesses need to make offers, and the customer decides whether to accept, decline or rearrange. You can use Hompt on the website and, if you choose, through WhatsApp, ChatGPT or Claude.
Information we collect
- Account and sign-in: your name and email address if you sign in with Microsoft, your invitation, the terms you accepted and when, and sign-in records. Microsoft and WhatsApp sign-in lead to the same account. For WhatsApp sign-in we keep a protected code derived from your number, not the number itself.
- Personal and business accounts: one account can act personally and for one or more businesses. We record which business you act for and your role.
- Contact details: your phone number if you add one, and whether you have chosen to share it with the other party once a booking is agreed.
- Service locations: the address you save, the general area you choose to show businesses (for example “Rolvenden, Kent”), and the agreed location where a service takes place elsewhere.
- Requests, offers and appointments: what you asked for, in your own words and as Hompt understood it; time windows; offers and counter-offers; acceptances, declines, cancellations, changes and confirmations; and the references we show you.
- Business information: business name, services, areas covered, availability, your application, and our decision on whether the business can take part, with the reason.
- Ratings you choose to give after a completed test job.
- WhatsApp: your number when you message Hompt, register or link WhatsApp; the messages you exchange with Hompt; the terms you accepted in the chat; your consent to receive test replies and updates; and when you linked or unlinked.
- Business registration: business details, services, packages and prices, payment preferences, working days and hours, areas or airports covered, and the documents you upload (for example photo ID, business registration, proof of address, insurance or a licence), with who reviewed each document and what they decided.
- Payouts: during the test, payout set-up is a simulation and no bank details are collected. When real payouts start, bank details will be entered only with a regulated payment provider (for example Stripe or Paystack), never in Hompt or in WhatsApp.
- Connected assistants (ChatGPT, Claude and similar): that you connected one, whether it acts for your personal or a business account, and what it asked Hompt to do for you.
- Notifications: if you switch them on, the technical subscription your browser provides. Alerts never show prices, addresses or names on your lock screen.
- Security records: minimal records of important actions and who authorised them, never passwords or message bodies.
How we use it
To run the service, match requests with suitable businesses, pass offers and decisions between both sides, confirm appointments, keep the service secure, keep the minimum record of what was agreed and who approved it, decide whether a business can take part, and understand how Hompt is working. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
What customers and businesses see about each other
- Before anything is agreed, a business sees the service, the time window, your own description of the job and the general area you chose. It does not see your street address, exact location or contact details.
- When you accept an offer, that business sees the address where the service will take place.
- Phone numbers are shared only if that person has chosen to share them after an agreement, only with the other party to the booking and only while the booking lasts. This can be switched off at any time.
- Customers see the business name and offer and, where the service is at the business’s premises or another agreed place, that address once the visit is agreed.
You can use Hompt entirely in WhatsApp. When you accept our terms in the chat, or register your business there, Hompt creates your account and you can use the same account on the website. To open it there, send WEB to Hompt in WhatsApp or choose “Sign in with WhatsApp” on the website. Hompt replies with a one-time “Open Hompt” button that works once, for 10 minutes, only for your number. Never share it.
You can also link WhatsApp to an existing account with a one-time code and choose which accounts to link. If you unlink WhatsApp, your number no longer signs you in; your account and other sign-in methods are kept. During the test we send replies and updates only with your consent, which you can withdraw by unlinking WhatsApp. WhatsApp is provided by Meta, which handles messages under its own terms and privacy policy.
ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants
You connect an assistant yourself and choose whether it acts for your personal or a business account. It receives only the Hompt information needed to answer what you ask, and it can only make changes you explicitly approve. Your conversation with the assistant is handled by its provider (for example OpenAI for ChatGPT and Anthropic for Claude) under that provider’s own terms. You can disconnect at any time from “Your connections” in Hompt.
Service providers and where data is processed
Microsoft Azure hosts Hompt and stores our data in the United Kingdom (UK South region). Microsoft also provides sign-in and address search (Azure Maps). Meta (WhatsApp), OpenAI and Anthropic are involved only if you use those channels.
If you take part from Nigeria or Canada, your information is stored and processed in the United Kingdom, and these providers may also process it in other countries, including the United States, under their own terms. We have not yet put country-specific international transfer arrangements in place for this test, and this notice does not claim compliance with any particular country’s law.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Account and contact details | 90 days after you leave the test or it closes, whichever is first |
| WhatsApp and assistant links | Revoked when you leave; unused links deleted 30 days after revocation |
| WhatsApp contacts who never accept our terms | 60 days without activity |
| Business documents | During review; then 90 days after our decision or your last upload, whichever is later. Unsubmitted or withdrawn registrations: 30 days after the last upload or withdrawal |
| Document review records (never the file) | 6 years after each event |
| Message content, including WhatsApp | 30 days after the related test transaction closes |
| Security and replay-protection records | 90 days after the event |
| Ratings | 90 days after the test closes |
| Minimal transaction record (references, status, dates) | Up to 6 years, for accountability and disputes |
| Important security and authority events | Up to 6 years, never passwords or message bodies |
| Business eligibility decisions and their sources | Up to 6 years after the decision or after the business stops taking part, whichever is later |
Because no payments are taken, the test creates no accounting records. When information is deleted we keep only a coded marker that stops it being restored from backups; the marker contains no readable personal information.
Your choices and requests
You can change your phone number, sharing choice, saved address and general area in Hompt, and unlink WhatsApp, disconnect assistants or switch off notifications at any time. To ask for a copy of your information, a correction or deletion, or to leave the test, email info@plaiss.com. We will act on your request, except for the minimal records described above, which we keep for the stated periods.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update the version and date above and, for significant changes, tell people taking part in Hompt.
